Kristin Gravina has officially completed her General Manager training and has accepted the role of General Manager at the Hampton Inn & Suites Burlington! Kristin came to us in July of 2022. Before working as the Front Office Manager for Earl, Kristin has worked at various positions with the Navy Lodge hotels at Whidbey Island and Yokosuka, Japan. We are excited for Kristin’s continued growth in her new role!

Carmelo Lopez has been promoted to take the General Manager role at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Sumner, WA! Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Carmelo started his career in hotels and hospitality as a dish washer in San Juan at The Hilton. Since then, he has spent 18 years in the industry in various roles from bellman, housekeeper, front desk, AGM, and GM, moving across several states in the U.S., finally settling in Washington in 2016. Carmelo’s work experience consists of a variety of brands and corporations, including Hilton, Marriott, and InterContinental Hotels Group. Carmelo began working at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Sumner in the spring of 2020, where he has appreciated meeting new people every day, growing and learning, and experiencing innovation in technology. He strives to create a healthy workplace environment thru trust and cooperation. Outside of work, Carmelo enjoys attending movie premiers, trying new foods, reading diverse literature, knitting, and spending time with his family & two-year-old puppy Coco.

GENERAL MANAGER ANNOUNCEMENT

Hotel Services Group proudly announces the onboarding of the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Marysville General Manager, Eric Moeser. Eric brings over 11 years of hotel experience from properties such as Sonesta Select, Woodspring Suites, Hells Canyon Grand Hotel, Quality Inn, Wyndham Canterbury at San Francisco, Courtyard by Marriott, and more. His experience as a Front Desk Agent, Front Desk Supervisor, Dual Front Office Manager, Assistant General Manager and General Manager have given him the tools to succeed in his current role as the General Manager at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Marysville.

GENERAL MANAGER ANNOUNCEMENT

Welcome the new General Manager of the Holiday Inn Express & Suites – Sumner,  Fasil “Phil” Balchow!  As a seasoned professional with more than 8 years in the hotel industry, Phillip prides himself on team building and above and beyond customer service. He started his career as an intern at the front desk where he was ranked as a top concierge amongst his colleagues. He believes that it’s not just about getting the job done but doing it with a smile on your face. Phillip has worked with the different brands such as Hilton, Stay Pineapple, Noble House Hotels & Resorts and of course IHG.

Hailing from Seattle, WA, he is enthusiastic about the city and all it has to offer, working so close to the tourism industry gives him a chance to share his passion about his home here in the Pacific Northwest. Phillip graduated from Seton Hall University in New Jersey where he studied Communication and minored in Philosophy. During his free time, Phillip likes to keep up with the financial markets and current world affairs, his favorite restaurant is Chipotle. Phillip is most excited about joining Hotel Services Group due to the amazing people that he has already met.  His goal is to be the greatest asset he can be to Hotel Services Group and his teammates.

GENERAL MANAGER ANNOUNCEMENT

It is with great pleasure that we welcome our newest General Manager for the Hotel Services Group.  Mary Moreno started as the new General Manager for the Home2 Suites in Marysville 11/21/2022.  We are excited to have her onboard and watch her grow within her new role.

Mary was born and raised in San Jose, California and moved to the Washington area in 2019 right before the Pandemic hit. She is still fairly new to the area but is enjoying hikes and her family time in Washington so far! Mary comes to the Home2 Suites – Marysville with a background in hospitality and over 20 years’ experience in the hotel industry, having been a General Manager for Marriott & Hilton hotels throughout her career. Mary started in the hospitality industry at the age of 17 as a Sales and Catering Coordinator and quickly rose through the ranks to General Manager. She was ranked one of the top 10 Hotel General Managers out of 275 Hotels GM’s based on communication, training and development, workplace culture, management, work/life balance, quality, and most importantly Guest Focus at her previous hotel.

HSG Internal Promotion Announcements

It is with great pleasure that we announce two promotions within HSG.

We have asked Earl Fox ( the current General Manager of the Hampton Inn) to come work at the HSG office.  Earl will be joining HSG in the role of Hotel Support and Administration. Earl started as a night auditor at the Hampton in 2015.  He then took on the role of Front Office Manager. In October 2021, Earl was promoted to GM of the Hampton Inn & Suites in Burlington.  Earl has done a fantastic job during his tenure at his hotel.  He has shown great leadership, organizational skills, and our go to guy whenever we have issues with Excel or even computer issues.  We are honored to have him as part of our changing team at the HSG office.

With Earl’s promotion we have promoted his current FOM, Kristin Gravina to the GM position at the Burlington Hampton.  Kristin came to us in July of 2022. Before working as the Front Office Manager for Earl, Kristin has worked at various positions with the Navy Lodge hotels at Whidbey Island and Yokosuka, Japan.

Although these promotions are immediate, Kristin, will go through a 60-day period as General Manager in Training working with Earl, to acclimate her to all things GM at the Hampton Inn.  Earl will be working at HSG a few days a week and then full time at the corporate office after Kristin’s 60-day orientation.

Hotel Services Group Announcement

It with great honor that we announce the promotion of Courtney Payne to Manager of Hotel Revenue, Development and Administration.

In the 7 months since hired, Courtney has shown her great hospitality knowledge and skillset. Her dedication to HSG and each of the hotels has been above reproach. She has proven time and time again, day or night, that she is 100% dedicated to assisting HSG and their portfolio in any way and in any department.

Her expanded role will take a deeper and more meticulous dive into revenue management, hotel PIP’s and development and the large bit of paperwork that every office so needs to function efficiently.

GENERAL MANAGER ANNOUNCEMENT

We are pleased to announce that Michaela has accepted the position of General Manager at the Candlewood Suites in Burlington! Michaela comes from the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Marysville, were she has worked since 2016. Michaela worked on the front desk, in housekeeping and most recently as the hotel manager. We know Michaela is an excellent fit for the Candlewood team and will lead to ensure the staff and hotel continue to be successful moving forward.

Director of Sales Announcement

We are thrilled to announce Jessica Quezada as the new Regional Director of Sales for the Best Western and Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Chehalis, WA!

Jessica started with Hotel Services Group in July of 2018 as a Housekeeper at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites in Chehalis and quickly moved up to the front desk where she flourished as a Guest Service Agent. In November of 2021, Jessica was promoted to Sales Coordinator and worked directly with the Regional DOS. Jessica has proven that she has the strength to build relationships and enhance the customer experience with her professional and determined work ethic. Her hard work as a Sales Coordinator has led to her promotion as the Regional Director of Sales.

We are excited to see and be a part of the continued growth of Jessica’s hospitality career as the new Regional Director of Sales for the Best Western and Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Chehalis, WA!

General Manager Announcements

Hotel Services Group has recently provided new opportunities for General Managers within our portfolio to manage new properties. Below is a recap of the new exciting changes within our organization that meets our mission of “Growing our own”.

Holiday Inn & Suites – Bellingham, WA We are excited to announce MegAnne Offredi as our new General Manager for the Holiday Inn & Suites – Bellingham effective April 15, 2022. MegAnne started at the hotel prior to its opening and has been a significant force in its ramp up within the market. She has worked and helped in all departments and was a major contributor to the hotel’s operations during COVID. We know MegAnne will continue to increase the Holiday Inn & Suites presence and market share in the Bellingham area.

Holiday Inn Express & Suites – Marysville, WA We are excited to announce Michaela Armstrong as our new Hotel Manager for the Holiday Inn Express & Suites – Marysville. Michaela began her hospitality journey with Hotel Services Group in January of 2016 at this hotel. Since then, she has worked tirelessly in both the Front Desk and Housekeeping departments with her current position being the Executive Housekeeper. Michaela was and has been instrumental in the success of the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Marysville and has built and kept a very strong team before and during these very trying COVID times. We know Michaela will do extremely well in this next step of her hospitality career.

Best Western Plus – Chehalis, WA We are excited to announce Kalina Goodwin a as our new General Manager for the Best Western Plus – Chehalis effective March 15, 2022. Kalina began her hospitality journey with Hotel Services Group in August 2019 as a front desk agent at this hotel. Within a year, Kalina was promoted to the Front Office Manager position. Since then, Kalina has shown the desire and ability to continue her hospitality career at the General Manager level. Kalina was and has been instrumental in the success of the Best Western Plus in Chehalis.

Candlewood Suites – Burlington, WA We are excited to announce Tara Sargent to the HSG team as our new General Manager for the Candlewood Suites – Burlington.  Tara will start on March 21, 2022. Tara comes to us with 15+ years of General Manager experience for IHG branded hotels in Washington State. She also reported to Warren for several years while at the Holiday Inn Express in Burlington. Tara will make a great addition to the team and will surely take the Candlewood Suites in Burlington to the next level.

Home2  Suites – Marysville, WA We are excited to announce Jennifer Caveny has accepted the position of General Manager for the new (under construction) Home2 Suites – Marysville. Jennifer has been in the hospitality industry since 2006 and has worked for Hotel Services Group since 2008. Currently, Jennifer has been the General Manager our flagship property the Holiday Inn & Suites in Bellingham since March of 2019. In that time, she has led the team through the difficult COVID environment while maintaining and growing the business. Jennifer played a critical role in landing the long term PeaceHealth contract in the banquet rooms and the mission critical multiyear contract with Southwest Airlines for its crew and passengers. At this point in time, Jennifer’s start date is to be determined based on the final opening date of the Home2 Suites in Marysville.

HSG Celebrates Construction Milestone of New Home2 Suites by Hilton Marysville Hotel

Marysville, WA – March 28, 2022 – Hotel Services Group announced today the “topping off” of its new hotel in Marysville, WA signifying that the structural framework is now complete. The new 90-room hotel is slated to open on August 31, 2022.

“Today is a significant milestone for the construction of this property and a testament to the skill and diligence of all parties involved,” said Mark Bentley, Managing Director, Hotel Services Group. “Upon completion, we look forward to welcoming guests from near and far.”

Gramor Development WA, LLC serves as the contractor for the project. Upon completion, the new hotel, managed by Hotel Services Group, will feature brand amenities including free hot breakfast, complimentary Wi-Fi, a 24-hour business center and fitness center. Each guestroom will include kitchenettes, spacious living spaces, HDTV, free in-room movie channels and coffeemaker.
